The Lateral Hip Leg Support is a specialized orthopedic positioning tool radiographer-designed to solve the common challenges of trauma and surgical imaging. Specifically engineered for unimpeded cross-table lateral X-rays, this support ensures high-diagnostic clarity while maintaining patient stability during critical hip assessments.

Clinical Superiority in Hip Imaging

The primary goal of this support is to eliminate the anatomical obstacles that often compromise lateral views. By providing a secure, elevated platform, it optimizes the visualization of the femoral neck and surrounding structures.

• Optimal Positioning: Raises and angles the unaffected limb comfortably at a 90° position, clearing the field of view for the lateral projection of the injured side.

• Reduced Superimposition: Provides unobstructed access from the hip to the patella, significantly reducing the superimposition of thigh soft tissue on the neck of the femur.

• Enhanced Diagnostic Accuracy: By clearing the soft tissue and bone of the unaffected leg, radiographers can achieve a "true" lateral view with greater consistency.

Robust and Hygienic Construction

• Lacquered MDF Finish: The support is constructed from high-quality, lacquered MDF. This material is specifically chosen for its durability against knocks and its smooth surface, which is easy to wipe clean with standard clinical disinfectants.

• Stability and Security: The solid 4.7kg base provides a firm foundation, ensuring the patient's leg remains stationary throughout the exposure.

• Additional Weighting Facility: For patients with high muscle tone or in high-movement trauma scenarios, the support features a built-in facility for additional weighting. You can easily add stability by placing a water bottle or sandbags (such as the FP82) into the unit.
