Paediatric Imaging Pack
The Forensic Gold Standard for Multi-Site Paediatric Imaging
The FP75 Paediatric NAI Set is a specialised, protocol-driven collection of positioning aids designed to standardize skeletal surveys for Non-Accidental Injury (NAI) cases.
Manufactured entirely from high-density, non-porous closed-cell foam, this set provides the anatomical precision and rigorous hygiene standards required for sensitive forensic imaging.
By providing identical tools across different clinical sites, the FP75 ensures that every skeletal survey is performed to a consistent, legally robust diagnostic standard, regardless of where the patient is imaged.
This set was developed by the team at Edinburgh Childrens Hospital
Clinical Utility & Protocol Standardisation
In NAI imaging, identifying subtle fractures—such as metaphyseal corner fractures or posterior rib lesions—requires perfect positioning. The FP75 set eliminates variability with dedicated components for every view:
Thoracic & Spinal Accuracy: Specifically angled wedges allow for the precise oblique and lateral projections necessary to visualize the ribs and spine without distortion.
Extremity Stabilisation: Specialized holding blocks and the included Perspex™ sheet enable flat, non-rotated positioning of small hands and feet, ensuring clear diagnostic views of the growth plates.
Immobilisation & Safety: The set includes varied sandbags and high-stability wedges to gently but firmly secure the patient, reducing the risk of motion blur and the need for repeat radiation exposures.
Advanced Material Properties: Closed-Cell Foam
Inherently Hygienic: The closed-cell structure is 100% waterproof and non-absorbent. It will not soak up fluids, making it ideal for paediatric environments where quick, thorough decontamination is essential.
Rugged Durability: This firm, high-density foam is resistant to "pitting" and permanent compression, ensuring the angles remain mathematically accurate over years of heavy clinical use.
Easy-Clean Surface: The non-porous exterior can be rapidly sanitized with standard hospital-grade disinfectants, meeting the strictest infection control protocols.
