CLOSED CELL FOAM -  Sets

A denser, non-absorbent foam with a sealed-cell structure that prevents fluids from penetrating the material. Closed cell foam is easy to wipe clean between patients, making it well suited to higher-throughput or infection-controlled environments. It is functionally radiolucent and artefact-free, and its water-repellent properties mean it can be disinfected without degrading over time. Some pad shapes may vary slightly compared to their plain foam equivalents due to the material's firmer construction. An excellent middle-ground option that balances imaging performance with improved hygiene.

CLOSED CELL FOAM -  Individual

WIPEABLE FOAM -  SETS

Rothband's standard foam core encased in a Dartex PU (polyurethane) fabric cover, designed for maximum cleanability and durability in busy clinical settings. The Dartex cover can be wiped down with approved disinfectants (warm water and neutral detergent, or sodium hypochlorite solution), making it the most hygienic option in the range. Some designs require a zip for cover removal. It's worth noting that the edges of the cover may show on X-ray images, so this foam type is best suited where ease of cleaning is the priority and minor edge artefact is acceptable, for example in interventional rooms or trauma settings where infection control takes precedence.
